SURF SKI HIRE · GOLD COAST

Try before you buy. Hire before you own.

10 surf skis. $10 a session as a member. No commitment, no storage, no thousand-dollar purchase before you know if you will love it.
WHY HIRE?

The smartest way to start.

New surf skis cost between $2,000 and $6,000+. At $10 a session as a member, you would paddle 100 times before spending what a new ski costs. Hiring different skis as you improve means you are always on the right boat for your level.
No big upfront cost
$10 per session as a member. Try it for months before you decide to buy.
Right ski for your level
Progress from V5 to V9 using our fleet. Always on a ski that suits where you are right now.

THE FLEET

10 skis. Every level covered.

Beginner Wide, stable, forgiving — ideal for your first 10 sessions
Epic V5 Beginner
Width 60cm · Length 4.26m
The most forgiving ski in the fleet. The wider tail gives exceptional stability while the rounded hull still glides cleanly, so first-timers can focus on the paddle stroke rather than fighting the boat. The ski most new paddlers start on at GCPC.
Carbonology Cruze Beginner
Width 56cm · Length 5.5m
Carbonology’s most stable ski, designed in South Africa for paddlers stepping into surf ski for the first time. Flat, wide and confidence-inspiring with bullet bailers that drain the cockpit fast. A natural alternative to the V5 for paddlers who want a slightly longer hull.
Intermediate Narrower, faster — for paddlers building speed and technique
Epic V8 Intermediate
Width 54cm · Length 5.48m
The natural step up from the V5. Narrower hull with a pronounced keel line that rewards clean technique, and the flip-up rudder system Epic is known for. Most improving GCPC paddlers end up spending serious time in this boat.
Epic V9 Intermediate
Width 49cm · Length 5.79m
Longer waterline and sleeker hull than the V8, with a narrower beam that rewards committed paddlers. The low-profile cockpit rim makes remounts easier in open water. A favourite mid-fleet ski for paddlers who are ready to push their speed.
Carbonology Boost Intermediate
Width 50.5cm · Length 5.95m
Carbonology’s intermediate hull, designed as the step up from the Cruze. Lighter layup with a livelier rocker profile that rewards active paddling, and the same bullet-bailer drainage system. Bridges intermediate to advanced paddling.
Revo R3 Intermediate
Width 48cm · Length 5.7m
Designed and built in Australia by Revo Kayaks. The R3 sits between the stable R5 and the racy R1, with a playful hull that responds well to active paddling in chop and runners. A popular choice for paddlers ready to move toward advanced boats.
Advanced Fast, narrow, demanding — the ski you are working toward
Revo R2 Advanced
Width 46cm · Length 5.7m
The fastest single in the GCPC fleet. Built by Revo Kayaks in Australia with a narrow 46 cm beam and aggressive rocker that demands precise technique. Will humble you if you are not ready for it, and reward you if you are.
Fenn Spearfish Intermediate to Advanced
Width 45.5cm · Length 6.31m
Designed and built in South Africa by Fenn Kayaks, the Spearfish is known for its long waterline and deceptive secondary stability. Tracks beautifully in open water and catches runs others miss. Suits experienced paddlers comfortable in swell and chop.
Doubles & Triples Paddle with a partner or crew — great for coaching, fitness, or fun
NK Double Double
Width 50cm · Length 6.40m · 2 seats
Built by Nordic Kayaks in South Africa, the NK double is stable enough for mixed-ability crews yet fast enough to keep up with singles. Great for coaching, tandem fitness, or introducing someone to the sport.
Carbonology SS3 Boost X Triple Triple
Width ~65cm · Length ~7.5m · 3 seats
Carbonology’s three-seat surf ski, built in South Africa. The biggest boat in the fleet, stable enough for mixed-ability crews, and surprisingly fast with three paddlers working together. Perfect for social paddles, team training, or getting mates out on the water.
